Not all roads or lanes in or near Cowbeech village have agreed/adopted names: Having taken the views of residents, The Parish Council has advised Wealden District Council, which will in turn advise the Gazetteer, on unnamed or "disputed" road names in the Parish. Only Hammer Lane has an "undisputed" name among Cowbeech roads. For example, the lane from Cowbeech House and 1 Corner Cottages towards Trolliloes and Bodle Street has no name on some maps, is called Trolliloes Lane on others and Cabbage Lane on others. The Parish Council is awaiting the outcome. (17 June 2003) |
